A Graduate, The Park, And A Birthday!
Ava Anna- Preschool Graduate May 24, 2007
Last Thursday was what I like to call crazy busy! We had a really fun day. We started out at 9:00 AM at preschool graduation! What a highlight and treat to see Ava progressing and accomplishing so much already in her life. We got to sit and watch some really great songs with lots of action and "some"enthusiasm. Congratulations Ava! I can't believe you are so big...kindergarten here you come. You will be a magnificent kindergarten student. Vivi and I will miss you lots while you are gone! Thank goodness you will only be gone half of the day :)
This song was really cute. Ava was not real thrilled with the idea of putting the little sunshine on her face. (as you can see)
This is Ava and her friend Olivia. They were doing the doe see doe (sp?) . Very cute!
This is Miss Jemay (yes that's really her name) she was filling in for Mrs. Shauna because Mrs. Shauna had just given birth to her twins the Sunday before graduation. Jemay was giving us the highlights of Ava's year.
Ava's favorites:
Field trip: going to the bread store
Food: noodles
Book: The book about ducks
Song: The whistling line
Activity: making the basket
Favorite things to do at preschool: Have free time
What do you want to be when you grow up: Not a pet doctor. A ballerina.
What are you going to do this summer to get ready for kindergarten: Ride my bike.
The graduates contemplating their future...;)
Ava also received the award for Best Reader!
Mrs. Shauna's 2006-2007 graduating class.
This is Ava with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, after the ceremonies.
Vivien was ready for some of the limelight after watching Ava for a full hour. The girls were convincing me we must do something fun to celebrate this wonderful graduation! They were both also coming off of a park high. Grandpa had taken them both for a picnic park experience the day before; with this fresh in their minds they really felt like they needed to get back to that dinosaur park! So, dinosaurs here we come!
Finishing our picnic in the sun. It was actually a very cool day for May.
Vivien heading off to make sure she tries out everything at the park.
The slide is always a favorite :)
This is all Ava wanted to do at the park. She wants to get across those bars something terrible! She did make some really great progress!
Vivi seemed to think she was at the beach...?? I guess we don't need to go to Hawaii after all ;)
And, last but not least...we got to spend the last bit of the day celebrating Grandma's birthday! We got to see cousins and have delicious cake. A perfect end to a wonderful day.

I think riding your bike is a great way to prepare for Kindergarten :-)
Congratulations Miss Ava! What a great day! I know another little girl ready to start kindergarten. I am sure that once you ride your bike, you will be ready to go.
