Mother's Day...Crystal Clear!

I am very happy to finally report I can see! Free and Clear:) I have been so throughly enjoying my new eyesight that I can't imagine why didn't I do this sooner? my vision the day after the procedure 20/15!!! Woo hoo! I have to admit I had a bit of a hard time the day of the procedure. Luckily, there was a nice stress reducing drug offered (of course by the doctor) and it was pretty smooth sailing from there. The doctor did have to tell me to quit shaking my legs. The procedure is so quick and painless. I really could barely believe it was over that quickly. This truly feels like a miracle. To be able to see after such a small amount of time. It really has me thinking about Superman and X-ray vision...they really might not be that far off...the technology is amazing...the X-ray vision could be next!

Of course Mother's Day was wonderful especially because I was seeing so nice and clear:) The weekend really started off wonderful when The manager from Albertsons called to inform me that my daughter Lexi had entered me into the "Queen For a Day" at their store....What!@!#%@# Me? Yes, and her writing was one of the top two, and they have my prize waiting for me. Would I like to pick it up or they could deliver it to me? I was completely floored! I want to type in the entire thing she wrote for me. It was amazingly sweet and kind, which I rarely am, so it was extra kind of her:) I decided she might be embarrassed if I typed the whole thing in so...I suppose I will refrain, but it was one of the most rewarding mother experiences I have ever had!

Me and my girls! What sweeties they all were this day. I am so grateful to them all for helping to make my day great:) As us moms know Mother's Day is sometimes quite the challenge. (I know you know what I mean). I remember my mom mostly crying a lot on Mother's Day...especially when we had to sing "When There's Love At Home" in sacrament meeting. I am sure my mom would love to know... I now totally get the crying on Mother's Day and I am truly sorry for all of the fighting that happened on that day...especially for the fights during the love at home song;)

My collection of flowers from the day! I LOVE fresh flowers. Having fresh flowers on my counter is one of my favorite things. It brings such peace and life into our home. Thanks to my D.H. he helped get me a set of these. Also, my Wonder Mill!!! I am very excited...look out bread pans I am returning:)

Here come my slue of pictures with my little girlie's. Here is my picture with Vivi. She made me a fabulous necklace that she keeps me in 24/7:) I am so glad to have the pictures but...come on could someone have told me how utterly awful these jeans make me look? Unfortunately, I had to delete many a picture...sure, let's blame it on the jeans. I am happy to report that my lovely M/day pictures have me back on my diet....going strong!@!

Ava with mom. Ava gave me a wonderful "all about my mom" page. She said I was 32 and weighed 30 pounds....she is my favorite;)

Lilli made me a REAL clock! I was very impressed. It is a great clock to have around:)

Lexi gave me the prize I won from her entering me in the contest...a bunch of fun stuffs:)

We finally made it over to celebrate with Grandma later that evening. Here are Lilli and Ava showing Grandma the cards they made her. They all did a really nice job on cards for Grandma.

Last but not least, Lilli made me this delicious and darling cake! What a thoughtful girl she is:) we all got to enjoy it and were grateful for the treat:)

This was my conversation with Vivi yesterday...keep in mind this came totally out of the blue and I have no idea why she finally decided she'd better say something about the glasses situation.

Vivi- Mom?
me- Yes Vivi?
Vivi- When don't you have to wear those ugly glasses anymore?
me- Well, (not wanting to think about it or get into the whole thing with her) I don't know...why? (I should have said "what's it to you" but, I am trying to come down to her level less these days.
Vivi- Well, because they just look kinda doofy.

It's true I have been running around looking pretty dorky these days. Don't get me wrong, I love glasses on lots of people, just not me. I really look so ridiculous in them! I guess I just didn't realize it was "bothering " my four-year-old. I knew Lexi has been embarrassed, but Vivi's 4!! Enough already!

The true fact is I am going in for Lasik surgery tomorrow, or I guess it's now today. The doctor wanted me out of my contacts for as long as possible before the procedure. I also had six days before my evaluation appointment that I could not be in contacts either. I have missed my contacts, the glasses thing has been extremely hard for me. I have been so reluctant to even talk or think about Lasik. I am SERIOUSLY nervous! I have been very non-committal about it. Now that the appointment is staring me in the face I think I feel committed to go and follow through. I don't know why I am feeling so nervous about it. Everyone I have talked to has been so happy with results. I am so darn excited when I think of waking up in the morning and being able to see! I really can't even totally take that all in. I have worn glasses/contacts since the 5th grade. It's been awhile. So, wish me luck...if you have an awful Lasik story...tell me, I guess? Hopefully this time tomorrow I will be seeing, glasses free:)
