Turkey Day

Here it is...it was one big boy! Thanks Kristy for ordering him for us...we have enjoyed him:)

Place cards...they turned out nice, but took forever to tie slippery ribbon on them at 2 AM.

The table

So...you can tell by the look on Lexi's face that there was some concern with our "very done turkey" ( I thought for the first time of ever doing this it wasn't a half bad job, but that's just my opinion.) My dad was referencing jokes from the turkey scene in Christmas Vacation...yeah, that was great!

Here is the spread...we had a TON of food! It was seriously crazy, but oh soo good:)

Lilli and Mammy.

Nicolette was not so sure about the whole Thanksgiving thing. She ate pretty well though.

Vivien mainly ate cranberries...thanks for the recipe Patsy:)

Here's our little group! Such a fun holiday:) We were so grateful to have Aunt Dawnae and family and Mammy and Poppy, to share our day.
I am sad I have NO pictures of the pies!!! My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the pie! What was I thinking?? Oh well, there's always next year:)

A Shakespearean Festival

Lilli got to be part of the Shakespearean Festival at school. They performed "The Taming of the Shrew". It was an interesting choice for elementary school, but they all did a great job!

Lilli was a narrator, she did a wonderful job:)

I even got a photo of her performing.

Grandpa, Grandma, Dad and Lilli

Look who was loving the stage after the performance...big surprise ;)

I'm Ready To Admit it...

My baby had a birthday.... October12, 2008 party at Grandma's house! This post has needed to be posted for awhile and here it is. Doug had to be to an Eagle Court of Honor on Nicolette's birthday, so Janet offered to have us all over to celebrate the two-year-olds birthday. . Thank you Janet and Steve for the wonderful time!

Grandma had the dinner table decorated so festive:)

Nicolette loved the happy birthday sign.

This gift was one highlight. This girl loves George!

This cake was really good. I am sorry to be so blunt, but it just was, really good.

The real excitement...cake time.

Wow...she looks big...when did that happen?

Nicolette enjoying her cake.

Nicolette surrounded by cousins and sisters. What a great way to spend a b-day.

Daddy, Nicolette, and Mom.

The big girl...

Birthday bedtime...George and monkey jammies...perfect!

A few reasons I can finally write this post...

1. I don't feel quite as sad as I did that my baby is now 2.
2. I probably don't feel quite as sad because she has turned into a wholly terror.
3. Nicolette's favorite things to say:
No!
Stop it Mommy!
Stop it Vivi!
No Way!
4. Nicolette loves to color on everything.
5. Including, the tile floor, the couch, and herself!
6. She no longer goes to her nap like a perfect angel.
7. She also does not want to go to bed at 7:30 pm.
8. She thinks she's as big as Lexi.
9. Every time I ask her if she's my baby?
10. I get a definite NO WAY!

Well, I suppose it is inevitable that the terrible two's were coming for my" night in shining baby"
It might be that we would never want to let go of those sweet little one's until they start showing us their independence.
I am grateful that Nicolette is growing and learning new things. I will miss my sweet baby, but I am also excited to get to know my new independent two-year-old...just give me the strength to survive it and I will thoroughly enjoy it:)

We Are The Champions!

Lilli and her softball team came in first place in the playoffs! Aunt Kerri and her Uncle were the coaches for this fun team. They were both fabulous coaches who definitely went the extra mile. I am sure the team owes much of there win to the dedication of the coaches. Lilli also got to play with her cousin Sarah on the team. It was a very exciting game and Lilli was the batter that helped the winning point come home:)

Here is Lilli in action hitting the ball.

She was number 11.

A moment in the outfield.

Lilli got to play with her good friend that she has grown up with. They had a great time playing spring and fall together.

Lilli with her first place trophy and winning ball! A definite season to remember:)

Fall Catch-up

October was a busy month. Here are the highlights...
Vivi and Nicolette with their friend Carson and cousin Isabelle, eating apples:)

Dad and Lilli on their way to the "Fall Ball" for Achievement Days. They had dinner and dancing and had a wonderful time.

Halloween cookies...always a must:)

Ava and Vivien had a great time decorating cookies, and spent lots of their time not only eating the frosting, but also decorating the cookies.

Lexi and her friend Kadie getting ready for a Young Women's night of silly Halloween dress up.

Vivi and I went with one of her new and favorite friends, and her mom, to the Pumpkin Patch. This place was some definite good fun.

Vivi having a very rare, quiet moment.

Here is Vivi and her friend contemplating which pumpkin they want to bring home.

A yummy, "dinner in a pumpkin" with friends.

Let the carving begin!

The girls all did a great job doing their own pumpkins...a first for us...it was great!

Ava was the only one who had a hard time cleaning out her pumpkin. She was gagging and claiming "throw up any minute" because it was so "disgusting." I am so glad she survived it;)
We have been loving Fall this far, and I am excited to get so many pictures done in one post:)
