My Boy

My baby is 2 months old today!

This is Owen finally sleeping tonight.  Sadly, Owen had a cranky day for his 2 month birthday and spent lots of the day crying:( and being held.

We Love having Owen in our home. He is growing so big! Some of his pj's are getting very tight. We go back to the doctor on Friday and it will be exciting to see what his weight and length are at two months.  Owen loves to smile! Even if some sisters are right there in his face, he is still able to smile.  This boy is going to be a trooper.

While Owen was turning two months today...these girls were painting.

Ava was giving the barbie car a good washing.

Lexi did homework, played the keyboard, and hid from my camera.

Poor Lilli had a bad fall on her bike today.

Nicolette had yet another tantrum.

I got to clean up the painting mess.  And my girls wonder why I hate it when they ask to paint?  hmmm. it's a mystery;)

What We've Been Doing At Our House

Jan. 22~ Owen turns 1 week

Jan. 29~ Owen turns 2 weeks

We have been doing the baby thing at our house!  Owen is already growing and changing.  He went to the doctor for his 2 week check up and was weighing in at 7.5 versus his birth weight of 6.15.  Things are very busy and intense and everyone is adjusting to our new little guy:) We all love him to pieces despite our adjusting.  I do have many complaints of "well, i've only held him 3 times in my whole life." I am sure this will eventually wear off, at least I have high hopes of girls loosing track of how many times they have held the baby.  My mom has been here and done loads and loads of laundry, with holding the baby here and there.  Luckily, she's not keeping track, but has had her fair share.  That is my update from this 5girl/1boy house:)

This little guy has been a long way in the waiting.  I can't believe he is really here!  We have a baby boy for the first time in this house...it's pretty crazy and very exciting!

Cousin Camp 2009

Every summer my Mom and Dad host a camp for all cousins 12 and under. What a great time for the cousins to get to share together. I know all of the campers were thrilled to get to have ample cousin time.

Lexi ended up at the cabin at cousin camp time because of needing a ride home from Vegas. She was a great help to me and those Aunts who had babies. It was good to have her there.

Mam and Poppy with the group of campers.

Lily and her cousin Katie were our Jr. camp counselors. They did a fabulous job helping and directing activities. We were all grateful to have them!

Here are a few samplings of some of our activities: Writing in journals..

Even Nicolette and cousin Ella were thrilled to be included in activities.

This was a great activity, put on by Aunt Katie. We made terrariums and these turned out terrific. It's amazing what you can make from a couple of 2 liter soda bottles.

The planting of the terrariums

This was just getting ready for the big activity. Each year we have a camp theme. This year was...We Love Nature. We had nature journals, bug hunting, a nature scavenger hunt, "fishing", painting a huge tree with tiny hand prints for leaves, setting up a tent, and many more:)

Every cousin gets a certificate of camp achievement. Nicolette was very excited to be big enough to get her own certificate.

Vivien with Mam at the end of camp.

Ava's turn.

Lilli also received a certificate for being a great camp counselor.

In her spare time, Lexi was trying to convince each camper to come with her for a photo shoot. This is one of Lexi's favorite things to do,taking pictures. Here are just a few pictures of her models.
This is my darling nephew Ryan.

I do love this picture that Lexi captured of Ava with the yummy sunshine right on her hair.
Thanks to all for making another successful year of Cousin Camp!

The Ice cream Klepto

That would be Miss Nicolette. Our little ice cream kleptomaniac. It happened a couple of weeks ago. We were all very unsuspecting of our dear baby, who loves everyone, especially her big sister Vivien. Unfortunately, for some odd reason, on this night of ice cream she chose to rip Vivien's ice cream right out of her hand. No one really knows why, all we know is Nicolette had two ice creams...Vivi had none.

Here she is, eating two icecream's no problem at all:)

I hope she is feeling a bit of guilt...

Although, in this shot she looks more sneaky than guilty.

Vivien tried...but all of her attempts failed and she was still left coneless:(
Yes, as the mother I felt an obligation to intervene. I did my best, but to no avail I couldn't rip the ice cream from the two year old's hands! (and, i did try!)

Poor Vivien. I finally decided, because of Nicolette's bizarre behavior to sneak Vivi another ice cream without Nicolette knowing. I have not seen this behavior in the two year old since and I have high hopes of not seeing it again anytime soon!

Hmmm...

So, as much as Lexi does not appreciate my blog, she was very insistent that I get her most recent photo shoot of Vivi...ON THE BLOG! Well, Lexi, here it is:)

I think this is Lexi's favorite.

Vivien, quiet and calm. A very rare moment;)

Lexi got her hot little hands on my camera the other day and went to work. She picked out Vivi's outfit, curled her hair, and yes, even mascara on my five-year-old. The girls both had a lot of fun. I love it when sisters can get along. It's a very good thing. Good job Lex:)

The Little Red Hen

This is NOT a typical Vivi photo! I guess she was feeling shy and not wanting her picture?
A couple of weeks ago I got to go to the preschool puppet show production of "The Little Red Hen". It was a wonderful show and each participant did a fabulous job:)
Vivien was a cat. She had the time of her life being a cat.

Here are the cats doing their part in the show. (excuse all the heads in the shots, but the puppet show seating is always in high demand.) I wasn't first in line for seats, hence the heads in most of my photos.

Vivi did a great job and new every single word to every song and poem:)

Do you notice the cute cat ears in this photo? Vivien felt VERY strongly about having a cat costume...even though it was a puppet show...ya. Well we found the best cat costume we could find on short notice. Especially considering it is NO where near Halloween. Thank you to big Sis Lilli who put together the stylin cat ears:)

Yes, even cat whiskers:)

Here's our cute cat finally agreeing to smile for the photo!

Here is Vivien with some of her best preschool friends and the most wonderful preschool teacher around! We LOVE preschool:)
